Manga Release Update- July 17, 2011   9 comments

It’s been a long time (a little over a year) since I last did one of these. As a reminder, I usually pick shojo titles, from Ribon and Nakayoshi in Japan and Kodansha Comics and Shojo Beat in America. Or other publishers…I just do shojo, more so the ones I’m interested in :^D Not all of these have pictures yet. I’ll go back and edit them when they do. Or just make a new post. (Unsure) For the Japanese manga, I only have the pictures for the ones released for this month (which are already out). I’ll list some others that are available to see the title, at least. Oh yeah, the Kodansha Comics ones go up  to March 2012 (for the ones I’m interested in). So now, I won’t really have to do it for a while. (:

And sorry about the huge CCS and Magic Knight Rayearth pictures….then again, no I’m not since they are nice-looking. 😀 Well, I’m working on a Shugo Chara! review…hopefully I can finish it later today. (For me, it’s already 1:30 in the morning) I’m tired and my back hurts, so see ya~

  1. I intend to get almost everything here as well~ 😀 (Basically everything except the Japanese manga, Ai Ore, and K-ON!.) I really want to get Bunny Drop, cuz I’ve heard excellent things about it, but I haven’t started getting them yet. I’ll have to remember the next time I’m in Barnes and Noble. :]

    • Yeah, I’m not really sure about Ai Ore :> The art would take time for me to get used to, and I heard the story gets pretty physical (not in terms of violence, but you know what I mean) so for now I’ll stick to other things xD I want to start Bunny Drop, as well as some others such as Kamisama Kiss, but I really need to finish some other series first. I probably will wait to read Bunny Drop but I’m watching its new anime adaptation, which is cute.~ I think in terms of manga, my next goal is Alice in the Country of Hearts (darn Tokyopop…they at least had the final volume to do ;_;) before that becomes out of print, and Ultra Maniac. I have to finish Pita-Ten, too…I’ll probably have to rely elsewhere to buy now, though.

      • Yeah, not surprising, Ai Ore! is by Mayu Shinjo after all and she is the queen of the smut. xD Kamisama Kiss is absolutely adorable, I have the first two volumes and I’m really enjoying it! Tokyopop published Karakuri Odette by the same author and it’s fantastic as well, it’s 6 volumes and all 6 were actually published, if you can get your hands on some copies. Yeah, I just started the Usagi Drop anime, and I loved the first episode~ It definitely puts the manga higher up on my list of things to buy! : D Good call on Alice in the Country of Hearts, since it’s probably going to be pretty darn hard to find her soon. Pita Ten will probably not be too difficult, since it’s been out for ages and there was plenty of overstock on it (the artbook and fanbooks are also fun, Tokyopop also published them)..

      • Yeah, I read that some other places about Mayu. I peeked at it once at the bookstore, and I was a little disturbed. =A=; I read a little bit of Kamisama Kiss before and like it so far. I wanted to get Karakuri Odette too, so it’s already on my have-to-buy list. 🙂 Usagi Drop is heartwarming, and I like slice-of-life stories. (Although that situation isn’t normally what people would experience) I’ll probably get the last two Alice in the Country of Hearts volumes I need the next chance I get. I might be getting the Full Moon artbook tomorrow. I had wanted to wait until Sakura Hime 3 came out, but Borders is now closing ;_; and that had been my manga supplier for the summer while I’m at my Grandmother’s. It’s disappointing since I really liked their selection. Since the liqudation began today, I don’t know if the one we go to (which was now one of the only two left in this city due to the closings of previous Borders) will still be around August 2nd. 😦 It’s a shame, especially since my aunt used to get coupons and order some for me online. I actually have not really looked for Pita Ten in a while, but last time I did at a bookstore I couldn’t find much. The first time I started the collection was in a nice 4-volume box set. I was hoping they’d do the same for the remaining four, but I guess not. I love artbooks~ But haven’t seen any fanbooks, so I’ll have to look 🙂
Oh, that’s good about Magic Knight Rayearth 😀 I hadn’t been sure..sometimes things can be confusing 😀

      • Also, my copy of Magic Knight Rayearth just shipped from Amazon today, so I’m thinking that today is when most stores actually got it in stock, even if the Dark Horse site says it was the 6th. But it really did come out! : D

  2. I kinda have a question……. who’s translating Maid-sama now?

    • So far, sadly nothing has been announced…and the chance of some Tokyopop manga being picked back up can be very slim. We’ll just have to wait and hope some like that will be picked up 😦

  3. Wow! There are so many of these I want to get *0* And it would be very interesting to see Tokyo Mew Mew turned into an omnibus xD [I have the original Tokyopop ones]. Ahhh…it’s so sad to see Tokyopop go… Dx I didn’t know they published Koko ni Iru Yo![I am here] in the US! x] Yay! Hmm…but Ai Ore seems a bit strange…YES! CARDCAPTOR SAKURA <333

    • I know, right? xD Only thing about the Mew Mew omnibus is that since it’s from Kodansha Comics it’ll be a paperback 😦 And not like the Dark Horse ones where they’re thick. I have all of the original ones as well 🙂 I can’t wait to get CardCaptor Sakura! >w</
